January Storms

Storm debris from an ageing fir tree

Janary 2015 saw several periods of stormy weather, one of which, although not particularly severe, managed to bring down a fairly sizable branch from one of the fir trees in our garden. As you can perhaps see from the illustration, the branch exceeded two meters in length, and could have seriously injured someone had they been unlucky enough to be underneath it when it fell.

The tree in question was not in good health, and we had already asked the landlord to remove it on more than one occasion. This incident resulted in a further email to the landlord, complete with a photograph of the fallen limb, again requesting that they take appropriate action. It was eventually removed towards the end of 2016.
