2014 was a big year for us personally, although somewhat ironically it left me little time for photography. Looking back, it was one of our busiest years in terms of travel, with holidays in Denmark, England and Greece. The early part of the year, however, revolved around Gatti’s bariatric surgery in February, about which we were obviously both suffering some anxiety. January and most of February were taken up with making the necessary preparations, and Gatti would spend March and April recuperating, aided by Krankenschwester Chris.

By the end of the year, thanks not only to the surgery but also due to a carefully planned diet and getting plenty of exercise, Gatti was in pretty good shape and able to enjoy many of the activities that previously would have been too strenuous. I think she would agree that this year was a turning point for both of us, and opened up many possibilities for the future.
